OUR MISSION
  • To support animal welfare by finding loving homes for homeless/abandoned dogs and cats.

  • To provide medical care and spaying or neutering for dogs and cats prior to adoption.

  • To reduce the homeless pet population by providing financial assistance to low income families for spaying or neutering their pets.

Palo Pinto County Humane Society is a light that shines as a beacon of hope for the unwanted pets in our area. We currently have eight volunteers who rescue, foster and find forever homes for spayed/neutered dogs and cats throughout our county. In the ten years we have been in existence we have helped the euthanasia rate at Mineral Wells Animal Shelter drop from over 90% to down to less than 20%, and we have helped over 400 dogs and cats find a better life through foster homes and long-term families.

In 2012 we created a successful spay/neuter assistance program. We also found homes for 414 animals that we altered.  To date we have altered 1122 animals. With additional funding, we plan to both continue and expand our current successful program. Please click here to donate to our cause.
